Oh I feel my heartbeat in my head I ran down the store to get me some pain meds been hangin’ around this town since I was a kid finally digging up some inspiration oh I know I can already tell how this one is going to go tomorrow I’ll crawl back to work and try not to be such a jerk so anyway I make it to the store and I forget what I came all the way down here for I grab some bells beer and better made chips I spend the afternoon trying to write a hit got a couple good ideas none of them seem to make it down to my pen I guess that’s the fun in this I’m trying to capture a bolt of lightning maybe I’m just chasing my tail you can’t appreciate a win if you don’t know how it feels to fail well maybe I’m getting good at that got a song stuck in my head something about being lost in the supermarket it’s been banging around in there all day I left the front door wide open tried to let just a little bit of light in watched the frost take over the glass turn signal clicks are my metronome as I sing along to an unwritten song and it goes like this got a couple good ideas none of them seem to make it down to my pen I guess that’s the fun in this I’m trying to capture a bolt of lightning maybe I’m just chasing my tail you can’t appreciate a win if you don’t know how it feels to fail well baby I’m getting good at that
